THE SONG ABOUT DANUBE
This play by Kaj Nissen was staged by Jonava Municipal Theatre. It is the story about the experiences of the people after they die and get to the cemetery. Play excellently reveals the thoughts and emotions of the heroes, when they face the absurd and vanity of their previous lives. Titas Petrikis composed the music for the play. The premiere took place on 26 th of September, 2003. The performance was well accepted by the audience and the author Kaj Nissen, who came to Lithuania to see it. Kaj Nissen: I found the Jonava production very strong in the pictures and the music, in gestures and in colours. It was a performance that called upon all your senses, and you were caught into the mood of the play from the very beginning "under water" and the long, slow, tense opening that took place, before the characters took over, and with the characters the balance between comedy and tragedy. |
: "Titas is an imaginative and skilled composer who possesses a wide range of musical styles combined with a real understanding of how music and images come together. His energy and talent are put to good use in any project he undertakes".
