'Noroutine': Jury gives First Place
The film Noroutine (by Jurate Samulionyte) won the national round of the second international short film competition "All Beings are born free and equal" and will represent Lithuania during the International German Film Schools Festival 2007 in Munich. Jury member director Audrius Stonys remarks that the problem of human and social circumstances and relationships is presented in a highly playful and original way. Film critic Zivile Pipilyte gave pluses for the film, because the story was told humorously and the film as a whole was characterised by receptive dramaturgy. The highly artistic structuring of Noroutine set it apart from the other films. Noroutine – it’s an audiovisual project, where fantasy, cinematographic creativity, mastership of actors, stop-motion animation joins altogether to the interesting spectacle, to the unreal film story. It’s a short length film, which represents an experimental genre in cinema. The main character of movie is a middle-age office worker Henrikas (actor Saulius Cepla), who spends his days in endless routine. He is a loner, living in his own secret and colorful world of things. These small things-creatures want to help their owner to escape sameness. Henrikas finds a long white ribbon and starts to follow it. The mystic ribbon continues through the different streets, yards and finally takes him to the exciting freedom of mind. The second international short film competition "All Beings are born free and equal" is financed by the German Foundation "Rememberrance, Responsibility and Future" and organized by the Goethe-Institut, which is the Federal Republic of Germany’s cultural institution operational worldwide.
